Live from Music Row Monday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. – host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio for another edition of Crom’s Crommentary to set the stage for further examination into the industrialization of the Democrat Party.
Carmichael:Â This is a continuation on my previous Crommentary, and I’ll have some future ones about institutional memory. This is getting to be for me as I look at the world today, memory is the greatest problem that we have. There are more problems in regard to institutional memory than there are benefits.
But let’s look at the institutional memory of the Democrat Party. The Democratic Party was founded in 1828. It was the party of slavery and the Democrat Party dominated the south. And when Abraham Lincoln was elected, seven states seceded from the south.
When he was inaugurated, four more seceded. And then they called for raising an army of 100,000 people. By the way, that is the definition of an insurrection.
Leahy: Yes. That was an insurrection. (Chuckles)
Carmichael: That was an insurrection. And it was done by the Democrats. Let us be very clear. And they killed a bunch of Republicans. They killed a bunch of white Republicans in the process. Now and I’m talking about the way that they ran their whole party for decades.
So then they lost the Civil War. And then the north put troops in the south to protect the rights of the now free slaves. And many of the free slaves ran in one office. Many. Dozens were in office serving in the legislatures of the states.
Leahy: And then when you had that contested presidential election in 1876. The famous election between Rutherford B. Hayes, the Republican, and Samuel Tilden, the Democrat, went into the House of Representatives.
It was so close, the popular vote was won by Tilden, the Democrat. But a deal was cut in the House of Representatives. A couple of votes went for Rutherford B. Hayes and reconstruction was ended.
Carmichael: Yes. And the north pulled the troops out of the south. The Klu Klux Klan was founded. And the Democrats passed the Jim Crow laws. Now, let’s be very clear about that. They passed laws that absolutely destroyed the voting rights of Black Americans in the south.
And that’s a very important point because what they’re trying to do now is pass voting laws to destroy the voting rights of all Americans. They want to institutionalize cheating. And anyone who doesn’t understand what they’re doing, Nick Saban to be included in this.
Leahy: Coach Saban, you’re on that list of people that don’t understand what’s going on.
Carmichael: Hasn’t read the legislation. It will eliminate voter ID. It will eliminate it. It will allow for voter harvesting.
Leahy: It’s illegal in most states now.
Carmichael: It allows for people to register by simply claiming who they are on Election Day. And it allows for voting by mail. And you can put your vote in dropboxes that are not secure.
Leahy: Not secure. We’ve documented that extensively.
Carmichael: And there’s no chain of custody. And we’re going to continue on this theme, is the institutionalization of the Democrat Party over the last almost 200 years. And it’s not pretty.
Leahy: Not pretty at all.
